Women’s Economic Empowerment Through Sustainable Entrepreneurship in Goré
Supported by the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (FCLI), this project targets rural women, refugees, and internally displaced women in the Goréregion, in southern Chad, an area marked by vulnerability and reduced humanitarian assistance.
The project leverages agro-entrepreneurship as a pathway to autonomy and resilience.
Its objectives are to :
- Train 60 women in agri-food processing (tomatoes, vegetables, tubers), agricultural product preservation,, cooperative management and marketing ;
- Establish sustainable micro-processing units; ;
- Promote social cohesion between refugee and host communities.
The project will directly benefit 60 women, with more than 1,500 people benefiting indirectly through increased incomes, job creation, and reduced post-harvest losses.
