Training “Equality Champions” to Promote Women’s Rights

On December 20, 2025, the association Women Success organized a training workshop in N’Djamena dedicated to “Equality Champions”, an initiative aimed at mobilizing and engaging men in promoting women’s rights and gender equality.

This activity is part of the project « Initiative for Women’s Economic Empowerment and Well-being », supported by the Women, Peace and Security Feminist Agenda Fund. The fund is led by a consortium of organizations including Institut Gorée, Équipop, Diakonia, and the NGO FAD, and aims to strengthen feminist initiatives that contribute to peace, social cohesion, and women’s participation in development processes.

The « Equality Champions » workshop brought together male leaders, both young and adult, from diverse backgrounds, united around a common goal: becoming active allies in promoting equality between women and men. Through interactive sessions, awareness-raising activities, and training discussions, participants were introduced to key concepts related to gender equality, positive masculinities, and the prevention of gender-based violence.

The initiative is based on the conviction that men’s involvement is essential for transforming social norms in a sustainable way and building more just and inclusive communities. By becoming “Equality Champions,” participants are encouraged to promote positive narratives about women’s rights, foster respect and fairness within their communities, and actively support women’s participation in decision-making spaces.

Through this activity, Women Success continues its commitment to fostering sustainable social change, where women and men work together to build a more equitable society that respects the rights of all.
