On April 28, 2026, the association Women Success organized an educational awareness session at Walia High School in N’Djamena on the theme: “Menstrual Hygiene and Girls’ Health.”. This activity is part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to promote the health and well-being of women and girls.
For nearly two hours, more than 60 students took part in an interactive discussion held in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. The objective was to strengthen participants’ knowledge of sexual and reproductive health particularly menstrual hygiene, while helping to break the persistent taboos surrounding menstruation.
During the session, participants were sensitized to good hygiene practices during menstruation, as well as effective daily menstrual management. Special emphasis was placed on cleanliness standards, including appropriate methods for disposing of sanitary products after use, with respect for both the environment and collective well-being.
Beyond the practical aspects, the session created an essential space for dialogue, where young girls were able to ask questions freely, share their experiences, and challenge common misconceptions. It was a meaningful moment marked by listening, trust, and the strengthening of self-confidence.
At the end of the session, sanitary products were distributed to participants in order to provide practical support in their daily lives and help combat menstrual insecurity.
The activity was facilitated by Nadège NGAODANDE, Head of the Community Health & Sexual and Reproductive Health Unit, and Patricia KEMSOL, a committed volunteer within Women Success.
Through these regular educational awareness sessions, Women Success reaffirms its commitment to informing, educating, and empowering young girlsby giving them the tools to better understand their bodies, take care of their health, and thrive fully.
