Economic empowerment & female leadership

Women Success places women’s economic empowerment at the heart of its mission. Through programs supported by international technical and financial partners, the organization promotes the creation of sustainable economic opportunities for women, particularly those from vulnerable backgrounds.

DIAN KOUM KÖ: Empowered Women, Strong Communities

Supported by the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) as part of the La Francophonie avec Ellesprogram, this project aims to empower 200 vulnerable women (100 rural refugee, returnee, and host community women, and 100 single mothers and young mothers) in N’Djaména and Goré.

In response to challenges such as poverty, limited access to resources, and gender inequalities, the project adopts a holistic approach : :

  • Technical training (sustainable agriculture, processing of local products, business management);
  • Material and financial support (agricultural inputs, cash assistance);
  • Creation of processing units and women-led cooperatives .
Awareness-raising campaigns on women’s rights and leadership workshops further strengthen the social and political inclusion of beneficiaries. Ultimately, the project will help create or strengthen 200 income-generating activities, improve women’s incomes, and raise awareness among 10,000 people about women’s rights and gender equality, contributing to lasting community transformation.

Initiative for Women’s Economic Autonomy and Empowerment

Funded by the Feminist Peace and Security Fund, this project is part of the program For Feminist Peace and Security Agendas in West Africa and the Sahel.

Its objective is to promote the economic empowerment of young women through entrepreneurship, while strengthening their access to information on sexual and reproductive health and encouraging their participation in decision-making and advocacy spaces..
The initiative is grounded in the belief that a woman who is economically autonomous and in good health is better able to fully participate in the social, economic, and political life of her community.

Women’s Economic Empowerment Through Sustainable Entrepreneurship in Goré

Supported by the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (FCLI), this project targets rural women, refugees, and internally displaced women in the Goréregion, in southern Chad, an area marked by vulnerability and reduced humanitarian assistance.

The project leverages agro-entrepreneurship as a pathway to autonomy and resilience.
Its objectives are to :

  • Train 60 women in agri-food processing (tomatoes, vegetables, tubers), agricultural product preservation,, cooperative management and marketing ;
  • Establish sustainable micro-processing units; ;
  • Promote social cohesion between refugee and host communities.

The project will directly benefit 60 women, with more than 1,500 people benefiting indirectly through increased incomes, job creation, and reduced post-harvest losses.

Boost Entrepreneures Program

Implemented with the support of Job Booster Chad, this program supports young women entrepreneurs at the ideation or early start-up stage. It offers individual coaching, thematic workshops, boot camps, and financial support.

Over two years, 90 women entrepreneurs have been trained and supported, strengthening their position within the local economic ecosystem.

Women Entrepreneurs’ Café

The Women Entrepreneurs’ Café is a friendly and inspiring initiative that encourages the sharing of experiences among women entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, and those at the early stages of their journey.

This informal space allows participants to exchange about their paths, challenges, and successes, while building networks of solidarity and collaboration.

Women leaders from various sectors take part in these sessions to share their stories, inspire participants, and encourage them to persevere in their projects.

Highly appreciated by participants, these gatherings have become a regular forum for motivation and female mentorship, helping to strengthen sisterhood and the entrepreneurial spirit within the Women Success community.
